What to Expect From Me

I am committed to supporting you with professionalism, integrity, and care. Here’s what you can expect during our time together:

  • Professionalism & Ethics: I follow the Code of Ethics of the National Hypnotherapy Society and work within my level of competence.

  • Referral When Needed: If I cannot provide the most suitable support, I will refer you to alternative professionals.

  • Communication: I am usually available by email between 1 pm – 8 pm and will normally respond within 24 working hours.

  • Guidance, Not Decisions: I provide suggestions when requested, but you remain in control of your choices.

  • Transparent Fees: All fees are clear and upfront—see the booking section for details.

  • Initial Consultation: Every client receives an initial consultation. This may take the full first session, though I will start treatment when possible.

  • Confidentiality: All records are strictly confidential, except where:

    • You give permission to share information

    • Disclosure is required by law

    • There is a risk to you or others

  • Record Keeping: Client records are securely kept for 7 years before disposal.

  • Complaints: If you have concerns, please contact me first. Unresolved issues may be escalated via the professional body’s complaints procedure: www.thenationalhypnotherapysociety.org

  • Safety & Insurance: I am fully insured, and your safety is my top priority.

What I Expect From You

For therapy to be effective, your active participation is essential. I ask that you:

  • Be Honest & Open: Share your thoughts, feelings, and concerns honestly.

  • Communicate Concerns: Let me know immediately if any issues arise during our work together.

  • Attend Appointments: Prioritise your scheduled sessions.

  • Cancellations: Provide at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations may incur a 50% fee. Contact me by phone or email if you cannot attend.

  • Full Session Time: Even if you arrive late or leave early, sessions finish at the scheduled time, and the full fee applies.

  • Payment: Fees are due in full 3 days prior to your first session (or as stated in the booking section).

  • Effort & Commitment: Positive outcomes require your active engagement, both in and outside of sessions.

  • Session Confirmation: All appointments and updates will be sent via email.

  • Course Completion: You may end therapy at any time with notice as above. Timing for concluding therapy is normally agreed between client and therapist.

  • Session Format: Most sessions are via Zoom; some may be face-to-face. Please arrive 10 minutes early for in-person sessions.

  • Substance-Free Participation: Attend all sessions free from alcohol or recreational drugs.
